Training Days Update.
With our Training Days filling up nicely it probably won’t be long before we have to cap numbers and start the waiting list (especially for the Saturday)
Here’s a list of what we’re planning to cover over the 2 days:

– Flag Marshalling
– First Aid
– Fire Theory and Practical
– Basic Incident Theory and Practical
Sunday 1st December
– Startline and Paddock Marshalling
– Role of the Post Chief and IO
– Advanced Incident Handling
– Radios and Communications
– Report Writing
– Leadership and Mentoring
It’s a lot to fit in to one weekend, the plan this year is to run the sessions as smaller workshop type groups rotating round

2018 Track Day Cheque Presentation
The presentation of the proceeds of the Goodwood Marshals Club 2018 charity track day took place during the lunch break of the Brighton & Hove Eagle Sprint.
Representatives of the two chosen charities (Acts of Kindness & CancerWise) were on the grid to accept the cheques.
Each charity received a cheque of £2000.
The club would like to thanks all those people who supported the day & hope they will attend this years event on Friday 6th December.
Chairman and Directors Award 2019
The Chairman and Directors of Goodwood Marshals Club have started an award scheme for 2019.
The awards called “The Certificate of Appreciation” is awarded in recognition of the valuable support to the Goodwood Marshals Club.
The Inaugural recipients of the award are :-
A larger than life character and committed club member, providing invaluable support to the club for many years as the Club Treasurer and providing a role model for dedicated service to the club.
Long standing club member and long serving committee member undertaking a number of different roles over the years, from Social Secretary to more recently long time Regalia Officer and general fund raiser.
Very early member of the club, a real character, long serving committee member and stalwart of the Rescue Unit for too many years to mention. Also the clubs longstanding Radio Co-Ordinator .
Another committed club member, great enthusiast and very long serving crew member on the Rescue Unit, always happy and ready to assist in any capacity.
Longstanding member of the club, providing support to all club members acting as primary ‘First Aider’ and role model to members in carrying out the duties of an exemplary motorsport marshal.
Long serving member of the clubs committee undertaking the role of Club Secretary for many years , working hard to ensure the clubs ongoing viability and success. A great motorsport enthusiast and supporter of the clubs aims and ambitions going forward.
2019 Cadet Competition
Each month for the next 5 months a subject will be announced on the website that we want you to write an article about in a maximum of 300 words that will then be published on the club website.
Each month points will be awarded for your entry. After all 5 months have been completed best score will win. As before there will be two age groups 12 – 15 and 15 – 18.
Prizes for 12 to 15 year olds £100 plus a Trophy & for 15 to 18 year olds £150 plus a Trophy.
We also hope to award some additional prizes as well.

THE SUBJECT FOR JULY is. If you could go to any Motorsport event anywhere in the world which event would you choose and why.
Your entry should be emailed to email@example.com This must be sent no later than 31sy July.
THE SUBJECT FOR AUGUST is. Design a poster to entice new cadet Marshals (A4 size)
Your entry should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org This must be sent no later than 31st August.
THE SUBJECT FOR SEPTEMBER is. If you could pick a career in motor sport when you grow up what would you choose and why.
Your entry should be emailed to email@example.com This must be sent no later than 30th September.
Please put your age and name of cadet on your email if sent by parent or guardian.
